Foot & Ankle Repair and Reconstruction
Dr. Christopher Bowlin returns home to East Tennessee after completing his professional training at the University of Louisville. His straight forward treatment philosophy is centered around comprehensive foot and ankle care and evidence based medicine. Special interests include all aspects of elective foot and ankle surgery, revision surgery as well as reconstructive surgical procedures of the foot and ankle including deformity correction, total joint replacement, as well as diabetic limb salvage/Charcot foot. His aim is to make Faculty Physicians a Center of Excellence for all patients.
At the Level 1 Trauma Center of University of Louisville, Dr. Bowlin completed a 3 year Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency with Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Certification.
Dr. Bowlin is uniquely qualified to provide comprehensive foot and ankle care. He brings advanced surgical techniques, including minimally invasive surgery, deformity correction and diabetic foot care with a focus on diabetic limb salvage and Charcot foot to East Tennessee.
Specialties: Foot and ankle reconstruction, complex fractures and non-unions, sports injuries, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, total ankle joint replacement surgery, osteochondritis dissecans (OCD lesions), stem cell utilization and bone grafting, platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy, bunion and toe surgery, flatfoot reconstruction, limb salvage, cartilage preservation techniques, avascular necrosis, and pediatric orthopedics.
Internal Medicine Physician
Dr. David Goldman is an internal medicine physician. He graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1987. He followed his education with residencies in Texas and at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He has experience in emergency medicine and primary care.
Dr. Goldman specializes in internal medicine to help adult patients manage their overall health.
Family Medicine Physician
Dr. Ryan Unger is ABFM Certified and specializes in family medicine. He has helped thousands of patients working in his private practice, Faculty Physicians, and at University of Tennessee Medical Center. Dr. Unger is well versed in the medication and treatment techniques and is passionate about health and fitness. His holistic approach to treat the entire patient rather than the symptom, and his knowledge of cutting edge medicine has lead the way in defining new effective ways to help patients naturally optimize their health. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his family.

Kimberly Gebhart is a certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from Elon University with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2017. She worked as a hospitalist PA prior to joining Faculty Physicians to specialize in podiatric medicine. Additionally, Kim is fluent in Spanish from living abroad. As an active individual herself, she is passionate about improving her patients’ mobility and quality of life. She enjoys teaching fitness classes, mountain biking with her husband, and running.

Brittany Miller is a certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2017. Brittany obtained her undergraduate degree from Furman University in 2009. She has experience in a variety of clinical areas, but specializes in podiatric medicine with Dr. Chris Bowlin.

Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine
Lindsay Ann Samarin is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner, with clinical experience in caring for patients of all ages, including a focus in women’s health, community health, cardiology and home health. A University of Tennessee alumna, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2015, and her Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner Specialty) in 2017.
Lindsay also has a love of sports. Before beginning her career in medicine, Lindsay served internships for the Lady Vols and the Philadelphia Eagles, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management in 2008.

Samuel L. Wood is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who believes that empathy and bedside manner are just as important as clinical excellence. Samuel is a proud graduate of Carson Newman University, and there he earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Advanced Practice Nursing in 2011 and 2018, respectively.
At Carson Newman University he was awarded with the Nursing Research Award for his thesis work focusing on patient satisfaction. Samuel gained two years of clinical experience at Morristown-Hamblen Hospital System and six years of clinical experience at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center before joining Faculty Physicians. Samuel now sees patients for DOT physicals, wound care, and primary care needs. Samuel is currently board certified by the American Nurses Association and certified in Basic Life Support. In his free time,
Samuel enjoys riding horses with his wife, caring for his salt water aquarium, and wood working. A message from Samuel: “I am a happy person, because I love what I do.
